ECOSYSTEM, film screening, talk and musical concert

Terra Alta Foundation invites you to a film screening and a concert by GROUP50:50 with the Swiss theater maker Eva-Maria Bertschy and the Congolese musician Kojack Kossakamvwe.

The film screening ECOSYSTEM and the following discussion led by artist in residence Eva-Maria Bertschy explores the complexities of environmental conservation in the Congo Basin. The short film, directed by Congolese filmmakers Joseph K. Kasau and Franck Moka, offers a visual entry point into ECOSYSTEM, a larger multimedia music theater project by GROUP50:50 - a collective of artists from Congo, Switzerland and Germany, with a production structure in Basel, Berlin and Lubumbashi, that realizes and produces transnational artistic cooperation projects. For ECOSYSTEM they travelled to the northeastern Congo and collaborated with rainforest residents to create a multimedia music theater piece about deforestation and climate change, a transnational ceremony, a ritual attempt to explore the significance of the forest for the fate of the world's population.
