Terra Alta Foundation presented two solo dance performances on the evening of September 05th 2024 on two stages in our Dzorwulu space.
Addis-Ababa performed the solo 'Su', a piece she started to develop at Terra Alta Foundation alongside musician Dromo.
Accra-based Addis Ababa is a movement artist, performer and storyteller, who has been involved in the dance, film, and theatre space in Accra for thirteen years. She is fascinated by the way bodies move and how the movements can be used to communicate emotions, ideas, and stories. She has been working with Terra Alta for three years now and recently accompanied us on our trip to Togo.
Cie7273 represented by Laurence Yadi performed the riveting solo 'TODAY' .
Visiting Swiss-based dance company Cie7273 is led by Laurence Yadi and Nicolas Cantillon, who have created about 20 pieces: from silent ones to dansed-concerts, from duets to group pieces, all of which they toured internationally (Africa, Asia, United-states, Europe, Middle-East, North Africa and Russia). She was accompanied by technician Etienne who worked with nine of our local artists to set up the lights and sound for the show.
Their visit was made possible by Pro Helvetia Switzerland.

The local audience was very struck by the intensity of the performance, and the technique which is very different to what they are used to seeing in Accra. There is great interest in seeing more contemporary work.
