This year, Professor Bridges has been back to visit Accra, and to lead an eight-week Realistic Acting Course. On August 2nd and 3rd 2024, Professor Bridges will premiere his production of The Glass Menagerie, an American classic by Tennessee Williams at Terra Alta.
In the "The Glass Menagerie," a family of three struggles not only financially, but culturally, to keep up with a changing world. The mother is stuck in the past, the daughter is too timid to socialize, and the son wants to be somewhere else. They deal with unfulfilled dreams and desires, escapism, familial responsibility and gender roles throughout the play.
A glass menagerie literally means a collection of glass animals. In the case of Williams's play, the glass menagerie is one of Laura's most prized possessions.
